For the past 15 years, Alternatives has been undertaking essential work targeting the promotion of democratic values, social justice, the defense of human rights and the promotion of sustainable society. Alterantives’ engagement in partnerships with important democratic and secular organizations the world over and in Québec and Canada has assured it an important place in civil society.

The malicious attacks on Alternatives, such as published by certain media are as much attacks against all individuals and organizations that work to promote democratic values, human rights and social justice.

I ask that the Canadian International Development Agency, one of Alternatives’ most important partners immediately confirm renewal of Alternatives’ funding, in the interests of promoting democratic culture and civil society in Quebec, and in Canada.
